Former Employee - Property Manager In Training

I worked at Berkshire full-time for more than a year

Pros

Berkshire is very family oriented. They give reward to those that work hard, verses politics. They are constantly trying to expand and have really become more efficient than ever as time goes on.

Cons

Sometimes their expansion stretched the budgets too thin, and the property would suffer. The company needs more floaters incase of turnover. Hiring process is a little excessive. I was blessed to... only have 2 interviews, hoever I was in charge of hiring at my proerty and they required 5 interviews.

Advice to Management

Being a Owner Managed company has its perks to employees. Never loose site of taking care of employees first and foremost.

I have been working at Cementos Argos full-time

Pros

Argos is a great company to work for! They offer a very fair, comprehensive benefits package and 401k plan. The company is very innovative and really focuses on sustainability, which is very... important in the building materials industry. Argos management is innovative and is continuously working to keep positive working conditions and work/life balance for it's employees. In the regional office, management is open to flexible work hours to alleviate driving time. Argos also does a lot of internal hiring, which speaks volumes about the culture.

Cons

Communication from top management down was previously an issue but with the new US President, this has been addressed and communication is very open and transparent.

Advice to Management

Continue being open to options that allow employees work/life balance.
