I worked at Boys & Girls Clubs of America
Very inclusive work environment with lots of room for growth
Busy work days, can be disorganized at times
I have been working at Blair Senior Services full-time for less than a year
In my time at Blair Senior Services, I've received: fair pay with cost of living increases, a nice benefit package (generous paid time off, health insurance with HRA, life insurance, disability... insurance, super generous retirement package) opportunities for professional development and advancement, and nothing but respect and transparency in the workplace. Add in the positive, friendly work environment and the little things like free holiday lunches, thank-you gift cards, "cake days," etc. and this place become the workplace you look forward to walking into each day. The management team is excellent: they're driven and goal oriented with their main goal being serving Blair County seniors. Yes, employees are expected to work hard and pull their own weight, which I personally prefer. And sure, non-profits don't pay as much as for-profit businesses, but go work for a for-profit business and see if you get the time off you do at BSS. Not only that: at least you get to end your day knowing that you impacted the lives of others in a positive manner rather than putting money in the pocket of the owner of a business. Others who feel this is a bad employer make me wonder if they've ever worked anywhere else....if you think this is a bad place to work...go see more of the world...
None I can think of!
