Former Employee - Senior Sales Executive

I worked at Cvent full-time for more than 5 years

Pros

- The people who work at Cvent are the "secret sauce" that helps the company succeed and make it so much fun to work there. You'll really enjoy your colleagues - Senior Leadership is pretty... brilliant & knows exactly how to make Cvent continue to succeed/grow - Sales leadership, structure, & resources are top-notch. Their Solutions are also really strong & well-respected in the space - They have a pretty wide US/International presence, so there is a strong chance you'll have an office near you or can work remote

Cons

- I loved working at Cvent - but they're pretty cheap when it comes to Salary. Benefits are solid, but their Sales salaries are below what other SaaS companies offer - Cvent has lost some of its... start-up "ethos" as it's grown to 4,000+ employees and has become much more a "corporate machine." If that's your sort of thing, then you'll enjoy the stability. The trade-off is that you're dealing with a lot more process, restrictions, and capped career/pay ceiling - You're expected to work really hard. While I never saw that as a negative, be sure you're setting proper expectations going into this job. Work/life balance has always been something that Cvent's sales team has struggled with managing over the years

Advice to Management

- There should be a heavier emphasis on retaining & rewarding employees who are Top/High Performers. It shouldn't take 3-4 years of promotions to make what a lateral hire makes from Day (1)

Pros

1. People - Working with an extremely talented group of individuals that treat each other like family 2. Recognition - Hard work and efforts don't go unrecognized. There is a tailored program... specifically designed to ensure credit is given where due. 3. Advanced Technology - End-to-End solutions portfolio that carries a heavy value proposition spanning data, decision, and distribution. 4. Growth Opportunity - Unlimited opportunity for career growth and leadership development
