I worked at Delta Air Lines full-time for more than 8 years
Pros
The benefits are great, especially for people who love to travel. Pay is not bad. You're able to give away shifts fairly easily to take extra time off. There is also the ability to transfer from one... station to another, for example, Salt Lake to Minneapolis or Detroit. Lastly, the career opportunities are pretty good. You can apply for new jobs internally. I watched some co-workers go from ready-reserve ramp agents to flight attendants, dev-ops, tech-ops, and mechanic roles. One even became a pilot after some years in pilot shcool. So you're not limited in your career opportunities.
Cons
Roughly every 4 - 6 months you "bid" to work in a different area in the airport, for example, Terminal A, B, C, etc. When you bid not only does your work area change but so does your management.... During my decade at Delta, I had an overwhelming amount of incompetent and or lazy management. The majority of them ran their operations sloppily and without care. The culture inside the company also began to turn sour, but it could have just been my specific station.
Advice to Management
Take some management and communication courses. People work harder for managers who work with them and treat them like human beings.
