Former Employee - Team Leader

I worked at Eastman full-time for less than a year

Pros

Great job and people and location

Cons

Pay scale and hours and environment

Former Intern - Emulsions

I worked at Wacker Chemie for less than a year

Pros

I was hired as a chemist intern with a very specific goal that broadened exponentially the more I got into my research. I was mostly left to myself but I never felt alone, I always had resources at... my disposal; whether it be contacts within the company, chemicals supplied, technology or instruments I needed. I felt like what I was doing was being taken seriously by the higher ups and was always included in project groups. I was given my own office space in a shared trailer as well.

Cons

The long hours and repetitive testing seemed very monotonous, albeit important to a production facility.

Advice to Management

The only thing that I really needed was better training with the company intranet, although that would have most likely been included with actual employment and not just an internship.
