Current Employee - Lead Quality Assurance Engineer

I have been working at Egnyte full-time for more than 3 years

I have been in Egnyte for 3+ years as senior engineer. It was a bit challenging coming from big company to adapt to the start-up culture. But Egnyte has a great work culture that allows a good work... life balance. I have flexibility to WFH when I need it the most. Plus, Egnyte has an open door culture, leaders have great vision and execution plan, opportunities are plenty to avail. I am fortunate to be part of a wonderful group of great technical minds who know what they are building and know how to make Egnyte a fun place to work.

Don’t have lucrative perks that most of the bigger Bay Area start ups have. For example: 401K matching, and health/life insurance could be better.

Advice to Management

office environment needs a facelift

Current Employee - Large Account Manager

I have been working at Upwork full-time for more than 3 years

Not only do we work for an incredibly impactful company but they also take more care of their employees than almost any other company. Rated the best place to work in Chicago, it definitely rings... true. Free lunch, breakfast, stocked kitchen, drinks on tap, aggressive employee stock purchase program), stock options, and more. We are shaping the strategy of the company and working with executives from some of the largest companies in the world. The caliber of talent here is barred none. I've been here for a little over two years and as long as we keep our eye on the prize, I won't be going anywhere anytime soon.

Since we are growing so fast, a few hires have slipped through the cracks. Stay selective in the interview process. Most people are extremely happy here but negative attitudes can taint the well.... It's expected in a sales environment but nip negative attitudes in the bud as soon as possible.

Advice to Management

Keep iterating, we move fast, poke the box, measure, and move. Stay hungry, stay curious.
