I have been working at Equilar full-time for more than a year

Pros

I looked through a few reviews on Glassdoor and just wanted to share my thoughts for anyone looking to join our team! • The People: Equilar has some of the brightest and most hardworking people I... have ever met. For someone joining Equilar, you get to learn quickly from industry experts, technical experts, and the management team! We all work collaboratively to solve challenges that make your day-to-day role so much more exciting and challenging. • The Executive Team: The executive team supports the growth and learning of all employees. They empower you to lead projects and provide timely feedback to make you successful. Our CEO is a visionary (as he should be) and has high expectations of himself and the team. He is also a great person and genuinely cares about his team. When I had COVID in early 2020, he emailed me every day to check up on me! (I worked for a billion-dollar company and several city institutions before Equilar and never had a CEO who cared that much about his team.) • The Culture: We work hard and play hard – that is the honest truth. We work hard because we are all on a mission and want to achieve results as soon as possible. Although we work hard, it does not mean we do not stop enjoying each other’s company! We frequently do happy hours and Trivia nights to unwind and Equilar always finds a way to treat us (example: since the pandemic, we have been receiving e-gift cards so we can order dinner for a virtual event!) • The Pay: Based on what you bring to the table, you will be rewarded. A couple of success stories: my VP started off as a Manager and quickly worked her way up to an executive! Most of our engineers and managers started in research and worked their way into different departments and titles (this is because Equilar taught them and gave them the opportunity to!) • The negative reviews: Most of the negative reviews on Glassdoor are around pay, culture and management. o Pay – You may not start where you want and this is because we invest in our employee’s growth and learning. If you perform well, raises and promotions will happen without a doubt. I started with Equilar roughly at the same salary range as my previous job (not where I wanted to be), but two years later, I have received raises and a promotion which I am happy with. I also work hard and earned what I received (if you just want raises/promotions but don’t want to produce, this is not the place for you) o Culture – If you love working hard and love seeing your impact being made, please apply and join our team. You will love it here! Most people who leave Equilar and post negative reviews on Glassdoor probably thought they can collect a paycheck and not work. A job is your career – as I mentioned earlier work hard and play hard. o Management – Our management team is knowledgeable and completely transparent. We all work, learn and grow together! They challenge us so they can help us grow and prepare us for our next role. I can be completely honest with anyone on our Executive Team including our CEO. He is very approachable and always makes time for anyone. Apart from everything mentioned, I feel honored working for Equilar. On a regular day, we speak to large companies and have many partnerships (check out our website)! We recently announced a partnership with Nasdaq to help move the diversity needle and we are consistently mentioned in top media outlets (WSJ, NYT, etc.). It is great to be with a company that impacts different industries in so many different ways.
