Current Employee - Junior Programmer

I have been working at High Voltage full-time for more than 3 years

Pros

Work on variety of games, suburban location, open kitchen, nice office, good coworkers, lots of freedom, good work hours, not much crunch. Overall great place to work.

Cons

Work for hire studio makes things in tough scenarios. Does not always focus on quality of product over other factors.

Current Employee - Anonymous Employee

I have been working at NetherRealm full-time for more than 5 years

Pros

35 Hour weeks, great bonus package, slower paced than other studios, friendly, goal-focused co-workers. You can find drama if you're the kind of person that wants to find it but otherwise you can... just show up, do your work, and head home.

Cons

Their HR is afraid to fire low performers, so they are carrying a lot of dead weight. People who haven't worked anywhere else think they are doing "crunch" if they work 45 hours...

Advice to Management

Have the tough conversations, or get someone from WB to do it for you.
