I have been working at Hostelworld Group full-time

Pros

- Company ideals are inspiring. - Working in the Travel Industry is really fun - There are some wonderful people working at Hostelworld - There are always new projects happening

Cons

- Upper management demands unrealistic results that aren't based on carefully calculated statistical forecasts. - When said unrealistic results are not met, management view lower level staff as lazy... or uninterested, ignoring the many other contributing factors. - Management culture discourages progression and improvement. - Standing in the company, pay status and promotion opportunities are based on face time with the right managers, rather than results or merit.

Advice to Management

Encourage creativity. Base pay raises and company standing on actual merit. Set realistic goals based on statistical forecasts and stick to them. Appreciate employee improvement and growth.

I have been working at Pond5 full-time for less than a year

Pros

Company is very upfront about goals and expectations. Working at Pond5 has been an amazing experience. There is room to learn and grow through numerous trainings and shadowing opportunities. The... culture is very family friendly with a good work to life balance. Additionally it feels good to be working for a company that is making a difference and giving opportunities for artists. This is a young company but they have a mid level vibe. The pay is good and they have a great vacation benefits package. Additionally, they are big on D&I.

Cons

I haven't run into any as of yet.
