Pros

- Deeply Inclusive and Ethical culture! I am allowed to wear my goth getup to the office, we had a coworker start gender transition and someone from HR held a meeting with us to go over how to... support our coworker during their transition and avoid any awkward conversations. LOVE IT! - My bosses definitely ask for their bottom lines, but we are encouraged to keep a healthy mental state. My due dates have been pushed without argument if I was having a hard time with my depression. - Lots of vacation days, designated holidays, and sick leave. No overtime to PTO options for my position. Life and health insurance is run of the mill, retirement is nice and we have an option to discuss our retirement investments with a financial management team quarterly for FREE. Daycare assistance, adoption assistance, and wonderful education assistance. - There are documents available to show you just what you need to do for raises, bonuses, and promotions. There is a small amount left to discretion, but you will always have proof to argue your worth. You have the opportunity to switch jobs internally and move from location to location (over years, of course. Not months.) This company is full of opportunity and awesome folks.

Cons

- Time zones. You will work on flex time, working a certain amount of hours a week, with whoever you are assigned to work with. Some mornings you will have meetings with offshore teams at 3am, and... sometimes you will coordinate deployments at midnight on a Friday. There is usually ample warning, and these terms are kinda negotiable. I have gotten used to quick naps when needed. - Onboarding feels a little silly and lonely. You will be given a LOT of information and then left ALONE for 2 months while you slowly undergo endless onboarding training in addition to your position. I asked for a lot of help, and only got a little. I now mentor folks to try and help alleviate that, but it's rough across most cases.
