What Employees Say
I have been working at Invitation Homes full-time for more than a year
Pros
Invitation Homes is a large and stable business with a growing IT and development team. The team is friendly and open to new ideas and the process is largely democratic. Sheldon McGee is an OG and... is awesome to work with. It is very easy to maintain a healthy work-life balance at IH. There are always new problems to solve.
Cons
Like most development shops, process can be burdensome, though it is constantly evolving.
Advice to Management
Involve developers sooner in discussions about future work. Worry less about one-week development cycles. Continue to allow and encourage developers to prototype new ideas.
I have been working at Staley full-time for more than 3 years
Pros
The company has been family-owned and operated for more than 60 years. The owners are involved in the day to day management of the company and know most employees by name. The company has a... strong culture and offers competitive pay and benefits, including flex-time for most employees. Most employees are willing to pitch in if you need help or have questions.
Cons
Raises are sometimes sporadic. Lots of travel for field technicians. Hours can also be very sporadic (going from lots of overtime to no work at all.)
Advice to Management
Management could do a better job communicating when tough decisions need to be made. Communications from the corporate offices could also improve.
