I have been working at Law Bulletin Media full-time for more than 10 years

Pros

In more than 20 years of employment, there has never been a question as to the financial position or viability of the company. How many companies can say they have been in continuous business for 165... years - during which a little fire occurred in the city, a couple of world wars, a depression, a recession, and plenty of economic strife. Half the company have been here 10 or more years. Competitors from across the country have come in to compete with various publications, products or business units and each have quit or failed to make the slightest dent in the business. Enormous peace of mind knowing that your job will be here tomorrow and you don't need to wonder if your paycheck is good or not. Very diverse group of employees most all of whom get along extremely well. And finally, the owners and senior management are here far more and at unique hours, than most realize. I have always appreciated the freedom to do my job which is afforded by managers, senior management and owners. As with most jobs, this is as simple and boring, or as exciting, challenging and rewarding as you want to make it. There is no limit to how much money you can make here.

Cons

No free popcorn. No foosball tables. No shorts days. No free car. In more than 20 years here, the owners have never stood at the front door and passed out thousand dollar bills - just because. And I... really hate that they won't guarantee a contract employee a job - what kind of people are they?

Advice to Management

You got us this far! I trust you to continue to work with us to be profitable for another 165 years. Keep it up.

I have been working at Cambridge Educational Services full-time

Pros

Cambridge has a fantastic mission with passionate and hardworking employees. Everyone here works as a team and is always willing to step up and help one another. This is also a place where employees... will grow and learn skills through unique opportunities that most other companies do not offer. Lastly, the company is very flexible with days off and last minute situations.

Cons

Since Cambridge is a rapidly expanding company, employers need to know how to work independently and be flexible. They try to meet the needs of as many customers as possible which means that... sometimes this can get tricky.
