Current Employee - Postdoctoral Researcher

I have been working at Loyola University Chicago full-time for more than a year

Pros

- Classified as full-time faculty when a postdoc, including retirement benefits + matching (which is amazing) - Very supportive colleagues, if you reach out - Students are intelligent and dedicated... for the most part, fun to work with - Position is inherently finite so do not need to worry as much about large scale changes/issues with the university governance

Cons

- Postdocs are not very common at the university, no built-in community with others, need to seek out connections on your own

Current Employee - Swim Instructor

I have been working at Life Time part-time for less than a year

Pros

Fun environment, nice people and enjoyable work

Cons

Nothing, I worked there for a summer job and it was perfect.
