What Employees Say
I worked at Marks & Clerk full-time for more than 8 years
You can do whatever you want to do. No one cares if you perform good or bad because there is no career progression anyways. Best to just be a social bird which will get you popularity and inevitably... a pay rise. Also, a great place to learn on the job. When you have developed and gained enough experience you will be ready to move to a better company, with better pay, where your work matters and not your ability to gossip.
Appraisals are meaningless. Promotions and pay rises are through nepotism. If you are being pushed to fire someone that reports to you, soon your manager will be firing you too so start looking... elsewhere. Everything is run like a secret society by a powerful few.
Advice to Management
If someone has been in the same role for a relatively long period it's either because they are really bad at their job and hence can not progress or because they are not good with office politics.... Either way, they do not fit into the company culture so need to be pushed out.
I have been working at Zoopla full-time for less than a year
The tech stack is really great and you're always learning new things, the people are very friendly and helpful, management are genuinely interested in constantly making sure the company is moving... forward and the employees are happy and hours are flexible. The offices are also beautiful and there is a gym.
Can't say that I have any.
