Featured Review

I worked at McMaster University for more than 5 years

Pros

- For my position I had a standard, predictable schedule - Unionized salaries meant you knew you were being paid like everyone else across the board - Great vacation & benefits package - Room to... advance

Cons

I honestly don't have any cons for working at Mac. I always enjoyed my time there, and I would recommend them as a place to work to anyone.

Advice to Management

My advice to any management would be to check in with staff regularly about how they're doing personally and professionally. An annual review can be very helpful for both management and staff to... ensure you're still on the same wavelength.

Current Employee - Anonymous Employee

I have been working at Halton Region full-time for more than a year

Pros

Work hours. Parking, cafeteria, nothing else.

Cons

Terrible and Toxic Environment. Read all reviews carefully before you apply. Unprofessional and poorly structured all over the Region. Employees bullied and scared by Management. Management... unprofessional and underqualified on their current roles. Benefits such as pension, be prepared for significant deduction from every paycheque. Bureaucracy and favouritism, with boot lickers and brown nosers. If you want to gain public sector experience then gain it from somewhere else.

Advice to Management

Learn from your employees, invest in your own career development, take some courses.
