Former Employee - Financial Advisor

I worked at Merrill Lynch full-time for more than a year

Pros

Vast amount of resources Experienced Advisors to learn from Good pay Great benefits and flexibility

Cons

Amount of products can be overwhelming Might feel like just another number

Advice to Management

Continue to educate but do so more intentionally, not through general online modules but face-to-face.

Current Employee - Manager

I have been working at SunAmerica Financial Group full-time for more than 10 years

Pros

SunAmerica Mutual Funds is a great company to work for. As a subsidiary of AIG, they have exceptional benefits and provide the best resources for their employees. A small- to mid-sized mutual fund... company, SunAmerica offers strategic investment opportunities. Learning "the trade" has been a challenge, but well worth it.

Cons

Two cons: management is a top-heavy {as it is with other places, too...} and there is no such thing as work/life balance. To work from home, one must finagle a shady deal. It's disappointing in... this current age of technology.

Advice to Management

Definitely re-visit the option to work from home. Working a 10+ hour day in the office doesn't make for a happy life.
