Featured Review

Former Employee - Principal Consultant

I worked at Microsoft full-time for more than 10 years

Pros

People, salary, stock, growth, stability

Cons

None, none, none ,none, none

Current Employee - Software Development Engineer II

I have been working at Amazon full-time for less than a year

Pros

The Amazon cloud SW development tooling is excellent, supports multiple programming languages, and it's used by almost all teams developing cloud services at Amazon. That means really low friction to... creating the core code (the stuff that adds value), minimal time with ops, and a high emphasis on operational excellence.

Cons

Hard to build bond with my team, but that is probably mostly due to remote development instead of in-person.

Advice to Management

My best friends have come from my job at my previous employer. It would be nice if I felt that the same opportunity to bond and develop relationships with my teammates at Amazon was there.
