Former Employee - Anonymous Employee

I worked at NEC Electronics full-time

Pros

The company had bright people, good technology portfolio and excellent customer base. The company fostered a collaborative work culture. Took good care of it's employees.

Cons

While the company had good benefits and base compensation package, it needed a stock-option type compensation structure to help retain and attract outstanding talent.

Advice to Management

Create incentives for employees to innovate, and take more risks to expand

Former Contractor - Senior Firmware Engineer

I worked at Renesas for less than a year

Pros

I got a lot of autonomy to come up with new ideas and solutions improved the performance and code efficiency for the project that I was working on. Not all of them was taken up but that was to be... expected.

Cons

Very process orientated. I here that there can be a lot of company politics although I did not see that.

Advice to Management

I liked my manager although some times hard to get as he was often in meetings.
