I have been working at New York City Department of Education full-time for more than a year

Pros

treating the students, Work Hours, Union, Health benefits, pension, public loan forgiveness program, senior therapists help mentor new hires, tuition reimbursement for continuing education courses,... longevity salary increase, optional to work summer for extra pay

Cons

Being under-represented and not included in staff meetings at schools, very little to no budget for supplies, OT management and supervisors are slow with paperwork and deadlines, hard to transfer... schools, regional therapists are typically the only OT on site, nobody to bounce ideas off of, you're on your own vs D75 has a few therapists at one site, sometimes there are no therapy rooms and you have to work in a hallway, difficult parents who fight to keep services on
