Current Employee - Resource Modeling Analyst

I have been working at NextEra Energy, Inc. full-time for more than a year

Pros

good work life balance managers care about work happiness work that benefits the climate

Cons

some people feel generally underpaid low starting vacation allocation peanut butter spread of incentives/bonus rather than performance based remote work is likely not going to happen even post... COVID

Advice to Management

highlight and reward top performing employees accordingly, otherwise you may lose them

Former Employee - Senior Manager

I worked at Basin Electric full-time for more than 8 years

Pros

Small electrical and datacom contractor serving local community; Benefits not bad for a company this size with overtime being paid to hourly workers and some management; Company in the process of... trying to diversify outdated business model to incorporate more technology in daily operations, which is desperately needed.

Cons

Company in desperate need of 21st century business model and needs to abandon "Good Ole Boy" mentality and "Mom and Pop shop" philosophies. Upper management and business owner's need more HR... training and should compensate all employees fairly based on work performed and fair market value for position. Company needs to consistently follow company policies in policy manual rather than applying them only when convenient in a given situation. Not a company I chose to work for any longer with no real, long-term career path there.

Advice to Management

Refocus core company vision to take care of employees and customers and abandon owner's exist strategy with their retirement plans being what's most important to them. Take focus off of margins only..., and seek to take care of customers doing the job right the first time.
