What Employees Say
I have been working at PROS full-time for more than 5 years
Free snacks, free drinks, free extra lunch from meetings all the time, quarterly company sponsored happy hour, company sponsored team outing, PROS will also move into a brand new office space this... year. Lots of diversity groups that are constantly involved in the community. Work with tons of smart people that support each other who are positive and encouraging 401k match, generous PTO maternity leave, sick time, Employee company stock purchase at a discount, laptops and flexible work life balance CEO is genuinely a good person who personally helped pick up employees who were stranded during Harvey!
Politics and uneven workload distribution in certain groups. HR could see some improvements, for example when we changed HSA provider employees have to submit the paperwork themselves when this... can easily be done automatically through HR on a more mature system.
Advice to Management
For the most part, keep doing what you are doing!
I have been working at Alert Logic full-time for more than a year
Alert Logic is at a pivotal point in the course of its future and to be successful is focusing on two main concepts: 1) Getting the product and talent to a recognizable level of marketplace... differentiation 2) Developing an internal cultural environment that enables employees at any level to affect change. Most companies have this period in their history, but it lasts only a brief time, and Alert Logic is right at those crossroads today. The leadership has made significant change over the last 18 months, and just within 12 months it feels like a completely different organization – all going in a positive direction. Great progress means lots of opportunity, and of course work, but work that is rewarding, in an environment with the ability to learn, challenge yourself, and be something beyond a cog in a machine. There is a minimal level of hierarchy that enables the ability for true ownership in a role – and at the same time allow you, the employee to give feedback to leaders. If you are so inclined, proactive, and take the initiative to communicate across different functional areas, you will find an organization with few silos, lessening politics, and the ability to affect change above and beyond your role.
With change, growth, and a marketplace shift comes work, work that takes effort, communication that must be proactive, and an attitude that must be forward thinking. Thinking about the future while... decision making isn’t always easy and requires the ability to be dynamic. The requirement to own an idea, even more so than in normal circumstances, is required as resources are shifted into areas of growth. Dealing with ambiguity is a must – but generally this is not a negative if taken to be an area of empowerment.
