What Employees Say
I worked at Penumbra full-time for more than a year
It's a great place to get your foot in the door in a manufacturing business. They would hire people with zero experience which is great because I, myself, didn't have any. I learned a lot from... everyone here. From regular product builders to leads to supervisors to managers up to directors. I feel with my time spent here, that management truly cares and look out for the little guys. They want to help and make the job easy as possible for us. They make a great deal about the products and how it saves lives. So quality is always the subject of meetings (not a bad thing). Benefits are great, pay is better than most places in the east bay (especially for entry level), a lot and A LOT of overtime plus differential on swing shift.
Parking is a bit cramp during the day (its shared with other businesses). Some co workers might be hard to deal with but thats expected anywhere.
Advice to Management
Come down more often and say hi to everyone.
I have been working at Penumbra Biofeedback Systems full-time for more than 5 years
It's a wide open position in a wide open company. I feel like I can do whatever I think is required to get the job done. A lot of initiative is required, but the variety of tasks is fun. The company... also has a worthwhile goal to help those who suffer from PTSD, ADD/ADHD, and a number of other health conditions
The work hours are almost too flexible. This sort of thing cuts both ways - you've got to take the good and the bad. Some days it's hard to be as creative as the job requires, and i would like to do... something a bit more rote.
