Former Contractor - Copywriter

I worked at Petco for more than 5 years

Pros

I worked for Petco off and on for 7 years and I believe that they are truly passionate about the health and well-being of pets. The entire corporate culture revolves around pets and it's a lot of fun... to be able to bring your pets to work with you.

Cons

As with any large company, there are many, many stakeholders to any given project. Because of this, projects tend to move slowly, which can be frustrating.

Advice to Management

Identify the all-star team members, recognize their contributions and make an effort to retain them at all levels.

Current Employee - Associate Veterinarian

I have been working at Banfield Pet Hospital full-time for more than 10 years

Pros

Benefits package is un-beatable. I have been with Banfield for 12 years. I have watched the company grow from an un-organized large multi-unit company to a very organized company to work for.... Expectations are set and followed upon and support is all around you if needed.

Cons

The work schedule is rough. Many days are long,

Advice to Management

Get rid of Sunday hours. As a preventive Care practice, Sundays are a pile of mild emergencies of pets from other vets who are closed. It is a horrendous day to work.
