I have been working at Era Living full-time for more than 5 years

Pros

I have worked for Era Living for nearly 8 years in total. It’s extremely rewarding. The residents are why we do what we do. The company culture in my opinion is wonderful. It’s all about doing the... right thing, and serving our residents in the best way possible. I am very proud of the work we do and to tell people about my career and working for Era Living. There are hard days working with this population but the hard days aren't so bad when you have a team you can lean on. One of my favorite things about Era Living is the size of the company and the fact it’s a local, family ran business. We have freedom to be creative in coming up with solutions to our problems at the community level. Home Office staff is available and a great resource. Era invests in us and I think it shows. We have great benefits. In addition to the “traditional” benefits there are all sorts of other perks of working for Era Living. At my community we receive a free meal during every shift we work which is really great. We can use the pool and exercise equipment before or after work which is convenient and promotes a healthier lifestyle. My first ever massage I received was because I won a raffle at work and received a free 60 minute massage that was amazing! Era Living is huge on continuing education for both our residents and staff. The company has sent me to multiple conferences, which just shows they want to give us the tools to succeed. It always feels good when a company supports you and believes in you. It has made me want to work even harder for our residents, my team and the company. They promote from within and work to grow and develop staff. I personally am an example of this and could go on for hours about how beneficial I think it is. There are a lot of employees that have worked for the company 10 + years or more and that says a lot. I just can’t stress enough how happy I am to work for this company. I have worked for another retirement company in this area that continues to grow and build more communities but they don’t even have the basics figured out! Era takes care of their residents and their staff. The company has integrity and really is an incredible place to work.

Cons

It can be demanding work and takes a lot of patience, it's just not for everyone. I love it!

Advice to Management
