I have been working at Proofpoint full-time for more than a year
Pros
I love working at Proofpoint. Any job after a few years has its dull points, but overall I've done tons of work for the company on a variety of weird and slightly futuristic software platforms, and... overall it's possibly been (by far) the most entertaining job I've had out of the last couple. Additionally, they really don't sweat the small stuff, minor unimportant things that other employers like to create big fusses over just don't happen here. It's one of the best paying employers in the local job market.
Cons
It takes a lot of work to be a useful employee in the beginning, in part due to a lack of documentation. The politics are very infrequent but objectionable (when it occurs).

Pros
Amazingly engineered, category-leading products, and a deep, genuine commitment to customer success and satisfaction. This is a company that has quietly and deliberately built a phenomenal set of... products, around a warm, family-like culture, and has the overall feeling of a rocket ship about to take off.
Cons
This is not a con at all. But as a smaller, fast-growing company, every body counts. If you're a "big company" person, you'd better be willing to roll up your sleeves.
