My recruiter Bem A. made the interview process very seamless, quick and easy. After we had our first conversation, the rest of the process lasted a week and I was offered the following week. Bem is... an All-Star! Having been at my previous employer for over 5yrs, I came to Progressive Global Energy looking to shake up my routine. Walking in to a new place in downtown Houston can be nerve wrecking. Not knowing where to park, not knowing any of your new colleagues, not know if you can do the job, and having the lingering thought of, "did I make the right move?" They brought me in with another new starter (Aliyah) and we have been close ever since. My manager Ben W. is the epitome of what a great manager is. He truly invested himself in making sure that I had all of the proper materials to be the most successful at my job. He was ALWAYS there to answer questions, guide me through uncomfortable situations, and to mentor me in finding the ideal candidate. Can never thank you enough. Progressive Global Energy has one of the best training programs I have been a part of. In my previous position I was tasked with training and developing my staff for every possible scenario, so I feel I am equipped to judge this! Jake P., the Senior Learning Consultant, led daily training sessions, made himself available for one on one training and made sure we were well prepared to start recruiting. My director Stefan H. was there to be sure that the training received directly translated to my work. He was available for one on one mentoring, would give blunt and constructive advice and I honestly do feel that I am a strong recruiter because of it. As if the people and training weren't enough, It's hard to leave a company where you get 22 PTO days, 2 weeks off for holidays, every bank holiday off AND incentive trips and flex time. If you get the opportunity to work here, DO IT!
I loved my time here. If I had to choose it would be the construction going on underneath us. Can be pretty hard to focus with all of the noise at times.
Advice to Management
Keep listening to the employees wants and needs. You are doing an amazing job at creating the type of environment that makes it REALLY hard to leave.

- International opportunities - Open lines of communication directly with CEO's (as a side note, they also know everyone's names and genuinely care about each employee, globally) - Great office... environment, inclusive atmosphere. - Exciting growth plans - new offices to open, promotions available at all levels. - Excellent training/L&D team! training is tailored to each individual not one size fits all. They genuinely invest in everyone's' development. - Strong branding and one of the best reputations in the market. - Extra long lunches for gym goers, happy hours on Friday, company trips (miami, cancun.....) sponsored team nights out, incentives throughout the year and quarterly lunch clubs! - One of the best commission structures in the industry.
Granted, recruitment isnt for everyone, its tough, you're dealing with a two way sales process and people making major life decisions and that's not always easy. That said, the only cons of working... here are the ones which are generic across the recruitment industry as a whole. Of course there are long hours and a little stress - this is a sales environment and you'd be hard pushed to avoid those things if you want to be successful in any highly competitive environment. To offset this, OJ push to keep moral high and the sales floor as energised and positive as possible - those claiming otherwise should perhaps try and be part of a solution rather than the perceived problem.
Advice to Management
Keep doing what you're doing and ignore the negative reviews. Keep investing investing in your people and developing your team leaders and mangers so they can continue to support and develop their... reports and ultimately keep smashing it, together! Our growth plans are exciting and the future is bright here at OJ and I wouldn't want to be anywhere else!
