Former Employee - Resident Counselor

I worked at Salvation Army full-time for more than 3 years

Pros

Family Treatment Services had a lot camaraderie among the staff. In my position, I ensured that clients were safe, provided medications, and assisted the women with their children as needed. When a... client relapsed, it was hard, particularly if they might lose their child as a result. My supervisor was great and the team supportive.

Cons

The clients could be challenging, but overall it felt like everyone was committed to the same goals. Working overnight was a good way to have more time in the day, but can mess with your sleeping... patterns.

Advice to Management

It's important for the Resident Counselors and clinical staff to be on the same page.

Current Employee - Anonymous Employee

I have been working at Board of Child Care full-time for more than 5 years

Pros

Invests heavily in training and implementing evidence-based practices in its programs. Great health insurance and 403b retirement match (3% - rare in today's market) Executive team does try to be... available / takes feedback seriously. Leaders are willing to make changes / shake up the status quo.

Cons

Some support departments need better systems to make it less cumbersome for the workforce to get what they need.

Advice to Management

Still feels sluggish / slow to get a decision sometimes.
