Current Employee - Shift Supervisor

I have been working at Starbucks part-time for more than 3 years

Pros

They take care of you full benefits even if you're part-time. Stock, vacation, and sick hours offered.

Cons

Holiday Season and Summer season

Current Employee - Bookseller/Barista

I have been working at Barnes & Noble part-time for more than a year

Pros

Coworkers are great, flexible hours with school schedules and other jobs, great environment to work

Cons

As the company is having more problems, corporate is adding new policies that make no sense and adding to the secret shop. Store managers dont really get a say and you can end up doing some pointless... jobs but still overall a great experience.

Advice to Management

Let store managers control their stores. They know what the day to day is like
