Former Employee - Intern - Hourly

I worked at SunEdison part-time for less than a year

Pros

Good salary and professional environment

Cons

I have to do some fieldwork. Anyway, that is a great experience.

Advice to Management

Flexibility

Current Employee - General and Administrative

I have been working at Algenol Biofuels full-time for more than 5 years

Pros

- Smart, driven colleagues who are passionate about their work - Most employees re-located to the area to work at Algenol, so there is a strong friendship community at work - Not a lot of... bureaucracy/red tape - easy to get answers quickly - Generous salary/benefits - Necessary resources (personnel, equipment) are always made available. - Corporate efforts are made to foster positive culture - The potential of this company is extraordinary

Cons

- Because the company is a private R&D company, there is no revenue and the operating budget is dependent upon fundraising. While the company has always been successful in this regard, it can be... unsettling to not know from year to year how this is going to work out. - Some Managers are strong and some are weak; the employee experience with Management is inconsistent depending on which dept you work in.

Advice to Management

Communicate all the way down the chain. Sometimes communication seems to stop at the Director level.
