I worked at Tejon Ranch full-time for more than 8 years
Pros
Beautiful place to work at times. Some managers are great. If you are motivated there are opportunities for education and on the job training.
Cons
Severe weather at times, ever changing politics. Pay is below LA county standards for those that commute from the south. Cronyism and nepotism. Poor performing employees are allowed to perform poorly... while high performs are not adequately compensated or acknowledged.
Advice to Management
Staff is top heavy, lots of manager, directors, VP and not a lot of staff to address the actual work. Embrace a culture of trust and promote employees that perform well to retain good talent. Stop... overspending for poorly implemented technology efforts.
