Pros

IT management looks for people with drive and a willingness to learn-- I've seen many people onboarded from personal referrals with little to no experience and all of them have grown into their... positions. The people already working there are similarly trusting of employees to make decisions as needed and are supportive. IT department is tight-knit and generally has good judgement, from what I've seen this extends to the top of the company who despite the red-tape that comes from corporate structures, still give room for employees to take initiative.

Cons

Trucking industry means a high focus on reliability and the necessity to be available at all hours if/when something goes wrong. For most people this is a pro, but a lot of IT remains work from home.... For me, I find it hard to meet and branch out to people in other departments, where I would have no common work goals but would still enjoy getting to know more about my C.R. England family.
