Current Employee - Estimator

I have been working at Ulliman Schutte Construction full-time for more than 10 years

Pros

Good pay for full-time employees, decent benefits, enjoyable working environment, challenging projects, and opportunity to move up by exhibiting a good work ethic and positive attitude.

Cons

Long work days if you want to be successful.

Advice to Management

Get rid of the negative people who bring down the morale. Allow vacation time to carry over to the 1st quarter of the following year or switch to a PTO system. Please show up to the social events... that you arrange for your employees (parties, outings, etc.). Do a better job of announcing employee hiring and employee departures.

Former Employee - Senior Manager

I worked at K. Hovnanian Homes full-time for more than 8 years

Pros

From Corporate to Division Leadership is solid. Real care for associates. Heads and Shoulders above other big national homebuilding companies.

Cons

With the Corporate and Division structures, sometimes red tape and a bit of bureaucracy can become frustrating; however, this is true in most big and medium size organizations.

Advice to Management

Keep moving forward and letting associates know you care. Also, begin to trim some of the bureaucracy.
