Current Employee - Show Design and Production Manager

I have been working at Walt Disney Imagineering full-time for more than 10 years

Pros

I work with some of the best and most hard working people I know. They are a wealth of knowledge and often inspiring. Imagineers work hard and lead by example.

Cons

Long hours and somewhat under appreciated by leadership for the effort necessary to drive for continued project delivery successes.

Advice to Management

Human capital should not be underestimated. Imagineers are an asset to be invested in. The value of accumulated knowledge over a career of delivering world class projects successfully is the key to... future successes. That repository of knowledge should be nurtured and rewarded, and not taken for granted.

Information Architect

I have been working at Disneyland Paris

Pros

Great resume builder Challenging projects Wide variety of projects Fast paced, but fair (the odd late night s to be expected) Good work/life balance

Cons

Too many meetings Creative teams are detached from clients Many, many legal restrictions stymie creativity Lots of revisions Sometimes the process gets in the way of actually creating deliverables

Advice to Management

Get creative teams closer to clients. Focus on processes that get results, not the process itself. Really, this is a great place to work.
