Current Employee - Machine Operator

I have been working at Wienerberger full-time for more than 10 years

Pros

The shop floor staff are always friendly and welcoming eager to help where ever they can a real pleasure to work with

The upper management team are totally out of order I have personally seen them tear in to several people to achieve results when targets are not met including a team leader and lead operators and... shop floor machine operators one of the management team is just an out right bully and constantly tearing the team leader down even when they have hit our targets or better. After witnessing one such event I went in to check on the team leader who I shall not name and found him with his head in his arms and it looked like he had been crying after being constantly shouted at and being told he wasn't good enough and he should be sacked. I couldn't help feeling for the guy because I know he never stops working. It would be such a shame if the guy was to give up his job because of the bullying and harassment the guy takes constantly from site management at Goxhill. The shop floor teams myself included have been pressured in to working like mad to try and achieve targets but when things go wrong and machinery breaks its the same old story it's us the operators that are at fault one of the managers seems to just turn up and start shouting at people like it will help resolve breakdowns quicker I hope one day someone will take more notice of the behaviour of the managers put in charge and hopefully teach them some people skills that are obviously lacking

Advice to Management

Take time to speak with your teams and try and resolve the bullying and harassment atmosphere promoted by your senior managers If you don't take action quickly to resolve the bully boy tactics used... your reputation as a good employer will suffer greatly.
