Former Employee - Housekeeper

I worked at Xanterra full-time for less than a year

Pros

Worked in a beautiful park Other employees were Great Made So many friends Got to live in Yellowstone

Cons

Long hours Not good pay Didn’t get many days off

Current Employee - Shift Supervisor

I have been working at Yellowstone Park Service Stations full-time for less than a year

Pros

Excellent Management. Great Employees. Best Dorms in the park. Entry level jobs are the best in the park. Spend your summer relaxing with some friends in a gas station instead of standing 10 hours a... day washing dishes. Low stress, just what a summer job in a national park should be. Large bonus at the end of the summer (much bigger than either Xanterra or DNC). You get to live inside the borders of Yellowstone National Park!

Cons

There isn't a lot of room to advance at YPSS. If you're looking to return to Yellowstone for consecutive summers and want to move up to a better position than you may want to work for one of the... nationwide companies. Just know you'll pay your dues by working a crap job the first few months.

Advice to Management

Keep doing what you're doing.
