Former Intern - Decision Analytics Associate

I worked at ZS Associates for less than a year

Pros

+ The People: You will be working with very intelligent people. However, you would be surprised at how friendly and communal the environment is! Everyone is willing to help and show you the... ropes + The Culture: You always hear "This company has a strong culture" and roll your eyes. However, this is very true for ZS! Everybody tries to support you outside of work and is eager to get to know you. + The Subject: You will be working mostly in pharma, which means you will be operating in a very complex industry with a lot of stakeholders, which makes it so much more interesting! There is always the plus that what you do actually matters and could help save lives down the road + The hours: Don't get me wrong, you will be putting in consulting hours. But they are not as bad as other big firms, such as MBB. + The Technology: There is a great collaboration between strategy consulting teams (Called Business Consulting or BC) and the technology teams (called Business Technology or BT). The latter is leveraging state of the art machine learning and AI and it is always great to chat with them on up and coming technics and trends in the field

Cons

- The industry: ZS is very focused on pharma and biotech. If you do not like this industry, don't join! - The Hours: Even though they are not as bad as other big names, they are still consulting... hours and vary wildly depending on project requirements. - The clients: More often than not, ZS will collaborate with middle management rather than C-suites, which some people might expect to do in strategy consulting
