How are career development opportunities at ALDI?

Pros

Good starting base pay Good benefits Feel a sort of accomplishment when you get home because there will be plenty of responsibilities (even if you’re position is only cashiering) Depending on the store you will have a chill staff and/or management Teaches you the importance of being mobile and fast

Cons

The expectations can bring anxiety especially if you’re a cashier Speed and memorization seems as if it’s a top priority than customer service Registers are too old fashioned and certain keys may bring confusion to the point where you may mess up and have to call for management for refund Work load is unbearable especially when there’s only 3 on staff and you are expected to finish multiple pallets before opening There is no other career advancement outside of store management

Advice to Management

Hire more staff to get the jobs done easier Create an employee app (Workday, Paycom, etc) to make it easier for employees to check their times, paystubs, and edit any personal information Allow stores to have a group messaging to where the management can notify staff of any inquiries or changes that are to occur This is 2019, although calling the store is appropriate for call-offs or other circumstances, text-messaging is one of the most beneficial methods to instill memory (ie if someone needed the copy of the schedule, or if a manager has approved someone’s shift change) Build separate training centers away from an actual store in order to build preparedness and not make the training feel rushed Update the ALDI app by inputting Aisle numbers to make it easier for customers and employees to locate products

There is no other career advancement outside of store management

Does ALDI have any sort of mentoring program?

Pros

They give you an Audi car at no expense to you and a company credit card to use for gas mileage and etc. They also give you a starting salary of $80k but this is all for a reason.

Cons

Very toxic culture. Very little, if any, diversity. Very little help in terms of structure of the program. Work you to the literal bone mentality - both physical and mental. Seems like the role is meant to break you down in every aspect of the role versus truly teaching you. They give you a peer mentor whose means is to help you, but they really just stand and watch you fail. Store manager is there day to day training you, but they feel that they deserve your job so they are truly not helping you in the true sense of the word. Would not recommend.

Why do ALDI employees quit?

Pros

High turn over rate. You can be fired for nothing. Pallets are exowcted to be done in 30 minutes and if not you can be fired. You will train your replacement

Cons

They have bad attitudes and poor management. The 401k is a big scam. What you put in according to your paystub is not what T Rowe has on file. This company has no regards for their workers. They can fire you and not have a reason and will try and have you sign a letter of resignation (I left on my own account). Poor working conditions I almost slipped and broke my neck on milk spilled from a another employee in the cooler. Unsafe work areas and to be honest the way the meat and frozen items are worked are unhealthy. Frozen items are pulled out for long periods of time they start defrosting and is put back in freezer. They do not get health inspections because they claim to be private. The prices are great but the food handling and the rotation process are not safe. As well you dont get a raise until your second year. Everything they tell you at welcome day is a lie. This company can count on one hand how many 10 year employees they have or have had.

Advice to Management

STOP SCAMMING THE WORKING PEOPLE . T ROWE IS A MAJOR SCAM SO IS ALL THE THINGS AT WELCOME DAY

How are promotions handled at ALDI?

Pros

Only retail that close at8pm.

Cons

Very limited staff.they expect work of 9 persons from 2 or max 3 persons and want every job to be done on time and perfect.people think that they will get to sit on a chair and get paid 13/hr .trust me its completely different when you get to work there.DM,S are so young abd fresh if the college they never had any professional job prior to Aldi but Aldi spends all money on them get them Audi's cell phones. Pays them very good salary but the people who actually works and run the store who are back bone of tthis company are treated like slaves.all you get at the end of the year is 40cent raise.there is No internal promotions.you work your tail off and they will bring a brand new manger from outside spend time and money on them but won't promote the person who deserves the position. Work only if you looking for a part time job because as a shift manager you get only 15hrs of shift a week.

Advice to Management

Company runs by kids.Dm have no experience they work max 2 years and leave.high turn over rate.directors and VP hardly see real operations in store.so much fake ness and lies in this company

you get at the end of the year is 40cent raise.there is No internal promotions.you
