Good benefits, good job portability. AdventHealth is one of the largest not-for-profit hospital systems in the entire US. Good staff to work with.

Little chance of advancement to management or other fields such as education. Pay is poor in comparison with the rest of Florida. As a religious based organization, the corporation's mission is reinforced in every aspect of work, which can make non-religious employees or employees of a different faith very uncomfortable.

Amazing benefits, strong work-life balance, supportive onboarding, and great opportunities for career advancement. The Guild education program helping pay for schooling is a huge benefit for employees pursuing long-term healthcare careers.
Cons
Hiring and onboarding process can take some time, but communication has been professional overall.
Pay is below average, over worked, under paid, I was training people to challenge the test to be medical assistants with less experience than me and they were getting paid more with start up bonuses and better benefits than me.
Love the environment, the opportunities, and they do what they say they will within the community. They advance from within and offer a lot of educational opportunities. Benefits start Day 1, which is nice. Love the faith-based whole care mission.

Benefits are not the best. Insurance could be better and more affordable. Paid holidays are paid out of your own PTO, so it's not really a paid holiday if I am paying for it out of my PTO. Maybe a solution is to either offer more PTO to make up for those holidays and then divide those yearly paid holidays out of the extra PTO into a separate bank, so we can actually use our PTO for work/ life balance that Advent stresses we need.
