Pros

- You get to work on complex computer vision problems, so there is a lot of room to learn and grow - You can have a big impact on all sorts of projects if you show initiative and get involved in them - Flexible hours and good company understanding about non-work-related problems - Access to lots of GPUs (always nice for DL) - Development budget is nice to keep learning and attend top CV conferences (CVPR, ECCV, ICCV) - The team is talented and smart - Transperency across the company - Easy to approach any person in the company (even CEO) to discuss your concerns and try to solve the problems

Cons

- Miscommunication between business and engineering , which can lead different priorities - The engineering team is small given the size of the projects

Advice to Management

The new vision presented makes me confident that management is making decisions in the right direction. My advice will be to hire more senior talent to lead the ML team, which I know we are in the process of doing. Also, focus more on data collection.
