Does Akamai offer massages?

Pros

Working in SOC is great opportunity to get familiar with Network-related attacks, especially DDoS Game Room Free meal once a week for SOC Linux Academy Access

Cons

Speaking per SOC, full of over-judgmental, unfriendly, demotivating, jealous and even discriminative people, especially among those so-called "Seniors", who did everything to make the new comers feel like they knew nothing, they were worthless and even they did not deserve to be at Akamai. All of this was becoming much more evident while those so-called seniors were interacting with foreigners from Middle East in the office, They were clearly treating them worse but somehow this did not bother the local management at all as the local management did not want to mess up with those so called "Seniors" of SOC Krakow. Eventually, one of those discriminative, jealous and additionally anti-social so-called Seniors became a manager for the night shift as noone else was willing to do it. At that point, things got even worse as not only he had this judgmental obsessive character with extreme jealousy (especially of better-looking people) but also he did not even know the basics of either management or interacting with people in general. This toxic atmosphere in the SOC Krakow was so strong that even some of the Polish new-comers grabbed this attitude and started to treat other new-comers as such as soon as they started to work (you can also call it a desperate attempt to be appreciated by the Seniors in order to be promoted) I have kept those people called "so-called Seniors" on purpose so far, as being a Senior does not only mean having more experience and/or more technical knowledge (which literally anybody can do just by cramming the books& sitting in front of the computer all day long). Therefore, even though those toxic people were regarded as Senors at SOC Krakow, in reality they did not even have a tiny bit of wisdom of a true Senior, who can guide less experienced people, motivate them and most importantly, is nationality-agnostic. In fact, in my opinion, this last thing is not an issue of merely SOC Krakow but rather of all of undeveloped countries with immature business culture, like the Polish one. Virtues like motivation, guidance, wisdom, multi-culti team work etc. are simply too abstract to understand for people coming from such cultures, since all they care about is pragmatism, i.e. whether a person knows the stuff enough or not. That's why even such people were given the title Senior there, the title which they would never be able to acquire, merely with their technical knowledge, in any of the developed countries with this attitude and mindset, Work/Life balance was bad for the ones who were working on night shift as well. As Night shift is something that messes up this balance. Finally, Average English level was also too low at SOC Krakow, which is no surprise for Polish IT industry
