What is the salary like at American Marketing and Publishing?

Pros

Base pay plus commission and bonus structure. Entry level - no experience was required.

Cons

From the entire hiring process to the in-field sales process, every thing about this company is rushed. High-pressure workdays where 40 cold, in-person calls on potential leads is the expectation. High-pressure sales strategies, inter-company competition for clients, long days (7 am mandatory phone calls to late night / weekend messages from management). There is very little work-life separation, as your personal cell phone number and vehicle become your office in this position. In my 15 months with this company, turnover was north of 90%. Also, the healthcare program is horrible. An entire 2-week pay check at the entry level salary per month will go towards health insurance if you have a spouse or family. At least this is how it was in 2018.

Advice to Management

After achieving sales goals for 14 months in a row and being recognized as a top salesperson in 2018, I was written up in month 15 for falling short of my goal and threatened that my pay would be reduced if this happened two months in a row. There was no guidance offered by my direct superior, only a reprimand. It really rubbed me the wrong way and I chose to find new employment.

Base pay plus commission and bonus structure.

Does American Marketing and Publishing offer a weekly bonus?

Pros

AMP has an amazing company culture. The CEO, CRO and other members of leadership can be reached when in need of advice or help. Uncapped commission and bonuses allow for hard working individuals to reap the benefits of their work. Leadership team is flexible and understanding- they actually care about the people they work with. Several opportunities to advance. I highly recommend this company.

What are sales commissions like at American Marketing and Publishing?

Pros

I have been with AMP for 3.5 years now and it has been the best career choice I could have made for myself. AMP has given me the financial freedom that I once only dreamed about with their uncapped commission structure and career advancement opportunities. AMP focuses on providing affordable solutions for family owned businesses and it is and honor to work for a company that truly gives back to the community. Prior to AMP, I had no sales experience, and didn't quite know what i was getting myself into. Once I joined AMP, I have received constant support and encouragement. I am recognized for my success and coached through my failures. The leaders at AMP are present and accessible. Our team culture is extremely positive in the way we elevate employee enthusiasm, which leads to better overall productivity. I love being part of a company that provides such a valuable service to the community, and also truly values each and every employee. You know a company is doing something right when their employees truly enjoy going to work every day.
