What is working from home like at AppFolio?

Pros

AppFolio puts their employees first. I really like the quarterly performance check-ins and career discussions. AppFolio has a well-staffed L&D team and offers a variety of training to grow your leadership skills. In general, I feel there is a lot of internal (up)ward mobility. The culture is very strong and people truly care about each other. I like going to work and enjoy my co-workers

Cons

There is not a lot of flexibility to work remotely/ work from home. They have offices for Directors and above that take away meeting space (and light from the windows) and it's kind of an odd status symbol

What is overtime like at AppFolio?

Pros

Internship-specific: - Interns are treated as full-time employees. They're put on teams and do the same work as any other engineer - Onboarding is smooth and designed to get you up to speed quickly - You will learn all the essentials of being a software engineer - Plenty of opportunity for a full-time position - Great compensation Non-internship specific: - Future-Focused-Fridays every other Friday, a day where you can focus on improving your skills or building side projects instead of usual work - Huge focus on solving real customer problems. Lots of talking to customers and listening to feedback to make sure you're building the right things. - Teams are autonomous. They're given a problem area to solve in instead of being told what to build - Great people

Cons

- Large portion of the employees are recent grads, so there's a lack of experienced technical mentorship

time employees.

How flexible is your schedule working at AppFolio?

Pros

Many opportunities for growth. Flexible schedules (perfect for college students/new grads). Managers who go out of their way to facilitate the success of their employees. Fully stocked fridge with healthy food options. Corporate discounts. Office events. I could go on!

Cons

None that come to mind.

Advice to Management

Contact Center meetings feel a little redundant. The information discussed at these meetings can probably be effectively communicated via email.
