What are perks and other benefits like at Atlantic Diagnostic Laboratories?

Pros

Pay was well above standard compared to other companies and benefits were really good too. Company goes above and beyond to treat their employees well- yearly bonuses, matched 401k, consistently treated all employees for meals. Willingness to work with you to grow in your field.

Cons

A lot of these reviews say management has anger issues... I disagree. The passion they have for their family start up is solely because they want it to continue to succeed. I saw a lot of people come through with hopes of misusing that families efforts to get ahead themselves. My advice: be clear about what you want and don’t lie or try to get one past them. It won’t work.

What is health insurance like at Atlantic Diagnostic Laboratories?

Pros

- Salary was fairly decent. - Coworkers were good, hardworking people. - Free coffee. - Lab Week - 5 days of treats (lunches, ice cream, pastries, etc.)

Cons

Mostly all of the reviews that you read on here are true in regard to upper management. With that being said, here are my observations from my time at ADL: - Management is EXTREMELY aggressive, demeaning, and unprofessional. - Favortism runs rampant through this company. If you are not one of a certain 5 people (all in management positions) you will be looked down upon, talked about behind your back, jokes will be made at your expense, you will be told you are stupid and lazy if you make a mistake, and you will be screamed at in front of fellow coworkers. - Communication is horrible. You find out about important things that pertain to your job through word of mouth. Yet, somehow, it will be your fault for not knowing about it when you are caught by surprise. - Staff turn around is very high in certain departments. I have witnessed many employees only lasting a week or two before leaving on their own or getting let go that quickly. - Health benefits are very expensive for a family. - Work to life balance was non-existent for my role, but may not be the case for other roles in the company.

Advice to Management

- Start treating your employees with respect. Ruling with an iron fist isn't always the most effective way to get the best production from your staff. Work WITH them and not AGAINST them. - A common theme among most of the reviews on here is that the main management/ownership could benefit from taking anger management classes. Based on my past experience at ADL, I agree with that assessment 100%. - Listen to your employees ideas and recommendations. They are smart people who have proven themselves in their field and want to help move the company forward. By constantly reminding them that this is your business and that you could do their job better than them only makes them reluctant to share any ideas or recommendations they may have. - ADL has a lot of things to fix internally before it can truly try to compete with the much bigger, more organized, and more well rounded players in the game! *Tip for ADL Management: Based on feedback that I have heard, it would be a good idea to hire a real professional Marketing Manager with proven Graphic Design, Digital Media, and Social Media experience.
