Great people, challenging work and opportunities to move around within the department

Not enough staff due to budget issues. Massively understaffed.

Pros
- Great salary offerings compared to other APS departments/agencies; - Great organisation working towards a common cause; - Very good and empathetic people to work with;
Cons
- Particularly in areas involving ICT, this has unfortunately been outsourced to a worse Department as a cost-cutting exercise, and the staff have to put up with a degradation of ICT support as part of their working conditions. - Highly conservative culture (but that goes without saying).
Advice to Management
Partnering with DHS for outsourced ICT was/is a big mistake. Shame, cause there's some really good people working for DVA.
