What are perks and other benefits like at Avantguard Monitoring?

Pros

There are so many great reasons to work for AvantGuard. I have been working here for 4 years. I started as a part time operator while going to school full time. They worked around my school schedule and I felt that my leaders and supervisors truly cared about me and my success at work and in my personal life. AG offers great benefits even if you are not a full time employee, one of them being tuition reimbursement. This helped me out a TON during school. Aside from benefits, AG's culture and core values of We Care FIRST has made working at AG a delight because the employees and leaders actually take after those values. The environment is enjoyable and the work is rewarding, and you do get rewarded for your hard work and you are recognized for it here. This is why even 2 years after graduating with my bachelors degree I have stayed at AG because I have opportunities to learn and grow here. I feel needed, appreciated, and I love coming to work here everyday. No reason to leave when I love what I do and where I am.

Cons

Sometimes it can be a little competitive getting time off as a customer service operator. But even then, others are willing to help cover shifts for you!

What is health insurance like at Avantguard Monitoring?

Pros

Avantguard is an amazing place to work. They are very flexible with scheduling! If you’re full time, the health insurance is amazing and the benefits are even better. I’ve worked here for 2 years now and it truly feels like I’m making a difference since you are literally saving lives. Leadership does a really great job at showing appreciation- and the pay is great. There is always opportunities to earn bonuses or prizes by helping out with shifts and things like that.

Cons

Sometimes the job can be repetitive, and it is a desk job so you are sitting the majority of the shift.

If you’re full time, the health insurance is amazing and the benefits are even better.

Does Avantguard Monitoring offer unlimited time off?

Pros

Flexible schedule outside of reserving time off, pays really well, fun environment, cool coworkers, always doing prize raffles, seems to care about you and arent just a number

Cons

Can't get days off before 30 days, stressful, fast paced, constantly dealing with angry customers , you get breaks just bare minimum as law requires

Advice to Management

Stop caring about money as much, and give equal opportunity's for operators to advance,. Some people have been TM's for 3+ years and still haven't been moved up while someone who has been working here for less than a year already moved up to a high level of leadership, give better pay to TMs because the workload is insane

What is the retirement plan like at Avantguard Monitoring?

Pros

- Great work life balance, work doesn't follow you home - Challenging, in a way that helps you grow and gain self confidence - Supportive team that are helpful and answer questions and give you the tools to help you advance and grow - Hires and promote from within as much as possible. If you want to advance your career or branch somewhere like computer sciences or HR or marketing etc, you can! - Great second job, job for moms, college students, etc. - The work from home program is supportive and you are set up for success. They provide your computer and help you know how to use the software, keep you updated and connected, and keep our training current. They are also flexible. - The facility is amazing and well kept, clean, bright, well equipped, and well stocked. There is an amazing mother's lounge, break room, plenty of quiet spots, places to hang out with coworkers, coffee, snacks, etc. - You are rewarded for good performance - You easily make friends that last a lifetime - There are free mental health benefits, tuition assistance, financial counseling, 401k matching and more! ( even for part time ) - There are often opportunities for overtime / extra hours. - You are actually helping people, no sales, no cold calls, no shady stuff, you are doing work that matters, so it's more than just clocking in and clocking out, you are making a difference. - Every call is different, every day is different, you aren't bored. - Very flexible scheduling - Differentials for graves, Sundays, and Holiday Pay of course.

Cons

- The pay can feel kind of low some days. For college students / super part time work / extra income it's good. - The attendance policy doesn't reward people for picking up shifts very much and can easily punish people for others' unwillingness to cover you which is beyond your control. - Some days can be hard and emotionally draining, but we are supported and we are given resources such as free counseling. - The goals for times you are on the calls are pretty reasonable but sometimes you can go over through no fault of your own, or can just have a really bad week, and it's really stressful because you want to give good customer service and take the time to thoroughly solve issues, but also not take too much time so that you can help other people. I think sometimes stats are too much of a focus, but there is a good point behind it and they do help and encourage and reward you, they don't punish.

Advice to Management

I think rewarding people who pick up shifts makes a difference more than punishing people who call out. We do need a lot more people but we see you working really hard to hire quality employees who will be with us long term to be supportive members of the team, rather than a ton of temporary employees who aren't as committed and will help for a little but leave us in the lurch. Having a tech support rep/IT rep on 24/7 might be helpful, especially for work from home gravers. Also having one person all the remote workers can report to with issues specific to remote work would be helpful. Seriously though, keep it up, this is a great place to work with an awesome culture!
