Does Blue Cross Blue Shield of Illinois, Montana, New Mexico, Oklahoma & Texas | HCSC offer disability insurance?

Pros

The biggest thing for me is work/home life balance. With HCSC we are not just a warm body to fill a spot in a call center. Instead we are treated as husbands, fathers, friends and families. The training while long and intense in many areas, is very necessary to learn this career and be successful. in all reality, they could push the training out a few more week and probably still not fit in every possible situation you will come across in this job. However the floor support and ongoing training and support HCSC offers is great. On top of a great work life and home life balance, as well as great training to learn this job. The benefits, I can not say enough about the benefits that are offered. I have a full 401k matched at 6 percent of my pay, 120 hours of vacation (3 weeks) plus the option to buy a 4th week in the first year. If that is not enough I get a fully funded pension plan from HCSC, a legal plan that covers most issues that I would encounter in an average life, Life insurance, short term and long term disability, Critical Illness, 4 days paid bereavement, and so much more. As serious of a job that I work, we have a lot of fun at the office, we are always doing pot lucks and fun little things through the office to keep us in good sprits. We are more than co workers, we are a family here at HCSC and just in the short time I have worked here, I feel I can lean on my work family if ever I need anything.

Cons

Honestly the only real complaints that I have are that the temp in the building varies to much to know how to dress some times and the long process to get hired on. Be ready for a in depth back ground check down to the exact day you started you previous jobs. But given what we do for our job I understand why it is so in-depth, just was not expected at first.

Advice to Management

keep up the good work. I have been greeted with great warmth starting my career for this amazing company. My facility management have been very open and honest and welcoming. I love they will take time out of their day to come meet new hires and want to know about us not just stay to their offices and very busy schedule and not know a thing about us.
