Does Brandy Melville offer tuition reimbursement?

Pros

Flexibility, Discount on Clothes, aesthetically pleasing store

Cons

If you don't fit the white female, tall, blonde hair, beauty standard you are fired severely underpaid workers No professionalism CEO's extorted hard working college students and paid them next to nothing A lot of issues with copyright infringement, they were just taking pictures without permission, and printing them on shirts.

Advice to Management

They can start by creating a more inclusive, and diverse team. At one point they had staff from California fire all of New York staff (mostly black, and latino) and hired white, females and paid them more to do less!! It is outrageous.

Does Brandy Melville offer unlimited time off?

Pros

- Flexible scheduling, you got to choose your own hours and got them 90% of the time - Fellow sales/visual associates were very nice, everyone is friendly with each and get along well, same with most of the key holders. Everyone was also around the same age 16-21 ( most girls were 18/19) - Easy job once you get the hang of it. - First Store manager that was there was great, everyone kind of saw her as like their older sister but after she left management was iffy - Free coffee (this is only at the Nyc location though)

Cons

- Managers are all very young and inexperienced for the most part which lead to a lot of disorganization. - Security guards would racially profile customers and upper level management would not let the store manager replace them. - Customers were horrible, verbal and physical abuse from them was the norm and management didn’t give us any training on how to deal with it. - Constantly having to do jobs that were above my pay with no recognition. - CEO + his family lived upstairs, lack of boundaries that made everyone uncomfortable as employees would also sometimes spend the night there. - minors were always being scheduled for shifts that were way beyond the amount of hours a minor is legally allowed to work - very high turn over of employees. most girls are only there for four months before quitting or being “laid off” with few girls being able to stay long enough to climb the ranks. - Mass store lay offs happen about twice a year (literally everyone at my store besides two girls got laid off all at once) but smaller scale lay offs happen on a monthly basis. - Models are completely paid in clothing - Most key holders are great… but the ones that aren’t are horrible. - physically demanding and emotionally draining job with little reward, it’s just not worth it.

Advice to Management

- Diversity upper management - implement - Give employees customer training

What is paid time off like at Brandy Melville?

Pros

This is by far one of the easiest, and most fun jobs I have ever had. Working in a team of all women is so refreshing. It makes it very easy to develop friendships outside of work. It is very easy to get time off and be scheduled according to the availability you select for yourself.

Cons

Sometime things are up in the air, and tasks lack direction. You really have to be a naturally creative person to work at Brandy. Many things cannot be taught or trained for, its more like try, fail, try, again. Many of the tasks are aesthetic-based, and the manger usually has final say.

Advice to Management

Sometimes disorganized because management is very close in age or the same age as keyholders and associates.

It is very easy to get time off and be scheduled according to the availability you select for yourself.
