What is paid time off like at Bridgecrest?

Pros
8 hour days. Holidays off. PTO time increases each year of service. Can now roll over 80 hours of unused PTO per year, but when you start out you only get about 3.34 per pay period. Carvana side of the business is better than the Drivetime side. Hope you get put with Carvana, as their portfolio just exceeded Drivetimes and will continue to have the biggest growth.
Cons
Yearly reviews only allow for you to go up 3% if you have the highest marks possible. Basically roughly .50 cents a year. No matter how much extra work you do, they never can find it in the budget to increase you beyond that. Don't waste your time trying. Every other saturday is required for you to work a 4 hour shift. The company has had employees working from home for 2 years, but said those same ones can't have the option in the future for "security risks". w So if you want to ever work from home, this will never be the job for you. Incentives for being with the company cap at 5 years. You get nothing special after 5 years of service.
Advice to Management
The SLA program is way too long. They used to pull people who were high producers or people with tenure. Each revamp every two years made the program better, but throughout my entire tenure there joining management actually would have led to a pay decrease. The 3% cap on wages once a year is terrible. I had to fight after doing tons of extra work just to get a 5% increase one year - and it was the first one the company EVER gave out to someone on an annual review. Feels like any extra work ever done is only appreciated up until you try and ask for for money for the extra tasks and responsibilities you have taken on. The DOPS management is awful compared to MOPS management. It's almost like a different company with different rules. Working from home was great, but collaboration with DOPS was not. Not offering work from home will hurt potential of people wanting to join. The focus on retention of people in their first year at the dismissal of loyal employees that have been with you for years is an odd decision, as it costs more to higher and train new staff over and over. And since the pay raise to 20, people are still leaving for better opportunities . I'd imagine turnover is exactly the same after the bonuses got gutted again.

Pros
-Great PTO policy -Sick Leave -Perfect Development -Reasonably raises -Great Team environment and leadership that listens -10/10 would work here again
Cons
All above was a lie. This is another garbage corporate company that sucks the life out of you. They want you to shut up and work. Don’t speak your mind. You go to “round tables” to make this place better but nothing gets done. If your sick, you have to use your PTO, if your power goes out, you have to use your PTO. They will get what they want out of you and throw you out. No response for sick pay or not sick pay due to Covid. If you don’t fit the image then you won’t more forward with Developing. If your a top tier agent they want to keep you were you are at and not move you forward. Worked here for almost 3 years, put in my two weeks to be respectful and professional, just to find out I’m not getting my pto pay out. While I spoke to other former employees who got there PTO pay out just last month. Lied to my face saying they don’t do that. Advise to others, use your PTO before they let you go or before you put in your two weeks. They are scrambling around trying to figure out what they can do when they have no idea how to treat employees They gave everyone a raise to $20 an hour but to cap our bonuses even lower then before. So the raise wasn’t really a raise. In the long run most likely making them more and more money.
Advice to Management
The “round tables” should be enough info for upper management to fix this dump.

Pros
You build great relationships with team mates.
Cons
You will be micromanaged, if you’re not kissing up to someone be prepared to get called on all the time. Their pay is horrible for the work you do. You’re overwhelmed, stressed, and will be over worked. Be open to have your schedule changed once a month, and good luck trying to take time off.

Pros
There are some good people who work here
Cons
- PTO policy is garbage - Culture is too strict for no apparent reason (we don’t ever see customers, but dress code is strict) - Environment sucks and will constantly give you anxiety because they lead with discipline, not development. (Though they preach it’s the other way around). - I was told I was doing great, for years from my managers, who would then disband monthly development meetings for months without word. There were several spurts, between several different managers where they wouldn’t talk to you for 3-6 months at a time, or just not talk to you at all. I would ask for feedback; “no, we don’t have anything for you, you’re doing great, just keep doing what you’re doing.” -You’ll get stuck and have no room for advancement; your choices are to become a senior in collections, go to home office, stay where you’re at, or leave so I left and I’m grateful I did. - they pride themselves on being the best culture for their employees, and now that I’ve left, what I’ve realized is that everyone else is doing the same thing, but doing it better. You get brainwashed into thinking it’s not worth leaving because they preach how great the culture is, so you think “what if the next place is not like this place?” Turns out, there are a lot of places better than Bridgecrest and if they want to compete, they need a complete overhaul. - people who are in senior leadership have worked here for years; 8-10+, except a large majority of those who are in their positions have toxic personalities; I was told that someone in high level leadership hates tattoos. I have tattoos, so every interaction with that person I could see their eyes looking at my tattoos, and not be able to say anything, so that was fun. All leaders have a serious problem over sharing (even if the tattoo part wasn’t true, I still didn’t need that information) because the place is a complete mess. The feeling of constantly being judged for how you look, what you wear, and how that will play into you getting any advancement opportunities, worrying about if you’re going to get talked to or not, laid off, fired (because as I said before, they lead with discipline) eventually gave me panic attacks. There are many people here who have had similar issues, or have to take leave from the stress. - the pay is also garbage, and not worth the toxicity you have to endure.

Do better.
