How do employees feel about CDW's charitable donations program?

Pros

- culture - inclusive, fun, engaged - random thoughtful things the org does for employees (extra $ throughout pandemic, swag, coworker events, prizes, etc.) - continuous learning encouraged and rewarded - endless growth opportunities, personal and professional - stock program - charitable match program - they set up their employees for success - continuous feedback loop - always evolving process to improve overall operations - flexible work hours

Cons

- could have better benefits and base pay - large corporation so red tape/process issues at times - give too many chances to those with negative attitudes

Advice to Management

The only advice I would give, is to consider increasing benefits package. It's not great compared to other Canadian companies, but it's not awful either. I also dislike that there is no consideration to maternity leave pay matching. It's tough enough to leave on maternity leave and try and balance career and motherhood without adding lack of financial resources into the mix. I have always thought companies that do subsidize parental pay are absolutely incredible. Worth considering I think. Same with RSP matching - although they do offer a match program at CDW, it's minimal compared to other corporations/public sector employees etc.

Does CDW offer massages?

Pros

Great training and company culture. Lots of free meals, gifts, and events from partners. Great job for someone just out of college looking to get into sales and make friends. Young company and work hard play hard culture.

Cons

No checks and balances with management, over saturated territories and really just a grind. Pretty much a waiting game to inherit accounts from people who leave or retire.

Advice to Management

Come up with a better system for account pass downs. Don’t just leave it up to AMs and the single manager. This is how people are set up for failure. You need worthwhile experience to learn and improve.

Lots of free meals, gifts, and events from partners.

Does CDW offer dental insurance?

Pros

Staff turnover is high so if you’re desperate for a job you’ll probably get hired Almost everyone on the service desk is friendly and always happy to help if you need it A lot of the work is relatively easy depending on what you do and how quickly you pick things up, it isn’t hard

Cons

You probably won’t get hired on a permanent contract (unless someone takes a shine to you...) so people who are actually skilled miss out. Also you’ll miss out on a LOT of benefits like bonuses and cheap health and dental insurance Management are cliquey (and often downright rude) and ultimately don’t seem to care very much about their staff (but also wonder why everyone leaves) It feels like you’re constantly being watched even when WHF You’re often expected to do things that shouldn’t be your responsibility (often without notice) given the salary and the idea of a pay rise is literally laughed at even if you’re doing two people’s jobs There’s a lack of progression unless of course like I said, someone takes a shine to you. Otherwise you’re overworked and underpaid (most likely) Ultimately not worth your time if you value yourself and your capabilities

Advice to Management

Value the people who work for you if they actually stay

Also you’ll miss out on a LOT of benefits like bonuses and cheap health and dental insurance
