What is paid time off like at CHS Inc?

Pros

Great benefits. Supervisors understands that life can come at any time and are flexible giving time off.

Cons

Diversity. Although it is growing here, it lacks diversity throughout multiple departments.

Does CHS Inc offer relocation assistance?

Pros

Great People: Everyone knows everybody and everybody seems to be friendly. Great Benefits: The company takes very good care of its employees. Benefits include parental leave, tuition assistance, relocation assistance, profit sharing and bonus incentives, and both traditional and Roth 401(k). Safety is priority in the refinery.

Cons

I can only speak for my department and immediate supervisor but the organizational chart is disorganized, which results in very vague and poorly defined roles and responsibilities. As such, it's like herding cats to get anything done. However, big culture change coming from corporate to turn things around.

Advice to Management

Corporate seems to have good intentions. Let them run their programs to change the culture and the way we do things to make this place run smoother.

Pros

Still provide a pension, great health benefits, profit sharing is also a plus.

Cons

Very old school mindset and you have to be part of the "club" in order to move up within the company.

Does CHS Inc offer family leave?

Pros

From what they disclose, good benefits, still have a pension, solid matching, reasonably competitive salaries

Cons

They lag behind in terms of tech so adoption cycles can be painful, no free coffee/ meds in the first aid kit. Hesitant to hire on FT employees and shovel work around Mar-Sep

Advice to Management

Be willing to spend more on long term employees to avoid the shock to the workload
